Usage

The lunch box is suitable for packing thick, wet food, but not for liquids as thin as water. To ensure that the food stays in place and does not leak into other compartments, you need to follow 4 simple steps as described below:

1. Do not overfill compartments (3/4 full)

2. Remove excess liquid from canned fruit, applesauce, and yogurt

3. Place a paper towel under watery fruits such as watermelon and citrus fruits to absorb excess liquid

3. Keep the contents cool by adding an ice pack to your lunch bag

4. When closing your lunch box, press the lid with the palm of your hand and click the latch into the closed position to create the best seal

The lunch box is not suitable for thin liquids such as yogurt drinks, thin yogurts, soups or liquid/watery dressings, sauces etc. Pack drained foods with a thick consistency such as ranch dressing, ketchup, chunky salsas, hummus, thick Greek yogurt and veggie dips. Some oily vinaigrettes can leak out of the dipping well. One trick that can help keep vinaigrettes in place is to dress the salad and top it with a few croutons. The croutons will absorb any excess oil/liquid and prevent the vinaigrette from seeping into an adjacent compartment.

If you’re unsure whether your food selection is too liquid to pack, we recommend doing a quick test before sending your child to school with that food. Simply add the test food to a compartment, close the lunchbox tightly, and give it a few good shakes (or let it sit on its side for 10 minutes). Return the lunchbox to its normal position and open to check the results.
