As you know I am a budget girl and to be honest I just throw in my basket when it comes to shampoos that are cheap and smell nice. I don't pay attention to what is in it and whether it is animal friendly. Whether it does something for my hair, that's not really the case either. Until I started turning up my heating a bit thanks to that less friendly Russian bear and so I regularly came from the cold into a fairly warm house and my hair went in all directions except the right one. Static through and through and when it finally got above 0 again, my hair was lifeless. No matter what I tried, it was noticeable that my hair was not so happy with the weather of the past few days. By the way, not only my hair but as a typical Dutch person I have complained enough about that lately ;)!
But that my hair could use a boost was clear and how cool is it that Consciously Pure! sends me a delicious and fair shampoo to try. Perfect also during my Vegan Challenge because all products on the site are animal friendly and sustainable and so is this vegan shampoo from Faith in Nature.
The first thing I notice is the bottle with the beautiful label, when I also open the cap I am surprised with a wonderful fresh citrus scent. And yes, this scent is just a bit nicer than the "fake" scents in my cheap shampoos. That is also true because the oils of the citrus fruit peel are processed in it.
But besides the fact that your bathroom is brightened up by the bottle and you wake up wonderfully with the refreshing citrus scents, the shampoo has some more plus points. I have quite long hair but with a small amount (the size of a 2 euro coin) I had enough to wash my hair. In addition, it foams well. Yes, that is really one of my criteria for shampoo, although I know that the very expensive brands do not foam but I find that very annoying, especially because I then do not have the feeling that it has covered my entire hair surface. My hair actually felt clean immediately, I have quite oily hair so the difference was clearly noticeable. While it dries I actually also notice that my hair has a bit more volume and that the lifelessness is gone immediately. So I am curious how much better it will look after using it a few times.
Only small disadvantage but that is also because I commit the biggest sin in hair area, is that it does not comb through so well after washing. And yes, I know that it is very bad to comb wet hair but sometimes, well almost always, I am just too impatient. By the way, that problem can also be solved by using the conditioner but I notice that my hair becomes just a bit too heavy from that so I actually never use that.
Conclusion: a wonderful shampoo and if you are looking for products that are not tested on animals or only contain natural products, this site is definitely recommended. And for a more luxurious shampoo that is also vegan, I have to say that the price is still quite budget proof.
