Najel Aleppo Soap with Damascus Rose (100g)
Pure vegetable Aleppo soap with Damascus rose oil. Of exceptionally high quality, carefully developed according to traditional recipe. Damascus rose oil has many uses in cosmetics and is therefore suitable for all skin types. It has intensive moisturising properties and is therefore good for normal to dry skin. For oily skin, it has astringent properties. Rose oil can also be applied to combat signs of skin ageing.
This soap combines the ancestral know-how in making Aleppo soap with the beneficial properties of organic Damascus rose flower water, obtained by steam distillation of Damascus rose petals.
This Aleppo soap, combined with Damascus rose water, with its astringent and regenerative properties, conditions and purifies your skin. It leaves the skin with the fresh, floral perfume of Damascus rose.
Completely natural, it contains no synthetic fragrance or preservatives. Its skincare properties are recognised all over the world.
Did you know that Aleppo soap is the oldest soap in the world? For thousands of years, it has been prepared by the master soap makers of Aleppo and their craftsmanship is still passed down from father to son so that we can enjoy its beneficial effects. This traditional know-how was brought to the West by the Crusaders and marked the birth of Marseille soap.
Aleppo soap is an ecological product, free from artificial colours, synthetic fragrances, palm oil and preservatives. It is made using traditional methods: the soap paste is obtained by saponification of olive and bay oil. It is then spread and diced, after which it is stamped and dried for at least 9 months.
Unlike industrial soaps, Aleppo soap does not contain palm oil, so the soap paste dries faster.
Aleppo soap comes from a hot saponification of two selected oils: olive oil and laurel oil. Olive oil has excellent emollient properties and is a powerful detergent when turned into soap. Laurel oil has emollient, antiseptic, disinfectant and regenerative properties. For this reason, Aleppo soap containing a high percentage of bay laurel oil (30% and above) is recommended for dry and sensitive skin. It is recommended for cleansing and soothing irritable and so-called "problem skin".
Aleppo soap thoroughly cleanses the skin and is suitable for body, face and hair. It soothes dry scalp and helps fight dandruff.
Which Aleppo soap should you choose?
For daily use of Aleppo soap on oily or normal to combination skin, we recommend using a soap with a low percentage of laurel oil. Najel's Pure Olive Soaps, 5% BLO or 12% BLO, for example, will satisfy the whole family.
An Aleppo soap with a high percentage of bay laurel oil (30% and above) is more suitable for dry, sensitive and reactive skin.
Najel has commissioned usage tests for its Aleppo soaps to assess skin tolerance.
The results of these tests are as follows:
- Aleppo soap with 40% bay laurel oil:
Tests conducted under dermatological supervision on 20 volunteers with sensitive and reactive skin, aged 19 to 63, for 3 weeks with daily use.
The soap has excellent skin tolerance. 96.15% of the volunteers gave a positive response and 3.85% a negative response.
The buying intention rate was 95% and the satisfaction rate was 100%.
- Aleppo soap with 30% bay laurel oil:
Tests conducted under dermatological supervision on 20 volunteers with dry and sensitive skin, aged 22 to 65 years, for 3 weeks with daily use.
The soap has excellent skin tolerance. 93.85% of the volunteers gave a positive response and 6.15% a negative response.

About Najel
The AL NAJJAR family has been making authentic Aleppo soap, in keeping with ancestral artisanal know-how , since 1895 . Aleppo Soap was the first hard soap and has been manufactured for centuries. It is the forerunner of Marseille soap. This know-how is passed down from generation to generation in the family soap factory.
Every year, from the end of November to the end of March, production of the world's first hard soap starts again, following an unchanged process. The soaps then dry for at least nine months. During this period, the soaps oxidise on the surface and take on a yellow/beige colour, while the heart of the soap retains the green colour of the oils that make up the soap.
Najel's Aleppo Soap is made from olive oil and laurel oil. Soaped olive oil is a powerful cleanser that nourishes, protects and softens the skin. Laurel oil is known for its disinfecting and regenerative properties. The higher the concentration, the more the soap soothes irritated or problem skin.
