C-Lights Natural Tealights 40 Pieces
Innovative design meets sustainability with clean combustion. Made from 100% responsibly grown vegetable wax and a vegetable-based cup. These high-quality tealights are completely vegan. With C-lights you contribute to a better world and thanks to the translucent properties of the matted off-white cup you create a unique cozy and warm atmosphere.
A tea light whose vegetable wax burns completely, no soot caused by the braided eco-cotton wick and generates a beautiful flame for up to six hours. That is a high quality tea light. In addition, we only use responsibly grown vegetable wax without paraffin. This is the quality that C-lights stands for. The vegetable cup is certified and accredited by TÜV Austria for industrial composting (see more info below under "after use"). In addition, the C-lights cup is patented because the cup ensures that the metal wick holder remains neatly in the middle. This ensures safe and high-quality combustion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why are C-lights tea lights sustainable?
C-lights tealights are only made from natural materials, produced on solar energy (renewable energy) and completely climate neutral, so also CO2 neutral, transported from the factory in Lithuania to our central storage in the Netherlands. The delivery to you is also completely climate neutral.
The cup is made of organic materials such as sugar cane and/or other lactic acids of vegetable origin. This cup has been extensively tested and certified by TÜV Austria and is fully industrially compostable (for more information about the disposable instructions see further in the FAQ section or on the product page).
The wax used is 100% vegetable and made from soy, rapeseed, rapeseed or other cultivated crops. Only wax is used whose crops have been grown in a responsible manner. In addition, no animal fats are used in our tealights and are therefore completely vegan.
The wick is made of certified eco-cotton and, in addition to a beautiful and stable flame, ensures environmentally friendly combustion of the wax. Due to the high-quality wick, no soot is created in the house. Very nice for your beautiful walls and ceiling. This means you have to paint less.
The only thing that is less durable about C-lights is the small metal wick holder that is necessary for safe combustion.
Is there paraffin in your tea lights?
No. The wax used in C-lights natural tealights is exclusively of vegetable origin. Obtained from responsibly grown soy, rapeseed and/or other cultivated crops.
Do your tealights cause soot when burning?
No. The wick (wick) is the most important part of the candle to ensure, among other things, that a candle does not soot. Our 100% eco-cotton wick is of high quality, so no soot is created during burning.
Can I throw the cup into the organic waste, compost heap or plastic container after use?
No.
The cup is made from plants and other natural ingredients. The biomass used for its production is degradable and suitable for industrial composting. The Austrian TÜV has tested and accredited compostability according to an industrial process called 7P2159. Our product requires a composting time of 10 weeks at 100 degrees Celsius and 1 Newton pressure. To make the cup compostable, the metal wick holder must be removed. This small metal plate is necessary for a safe flame. You can dispose of this plate with the residual waste or with the plastic (depending on your municipality). After this process, the only residue will be pure water – with no toxic emissions.
There are only a few locations where waste is industrially composted. There is not yet a suitable system for collecting, sorting and composting bioplastic that also takes the necessary time to complete composting. Since this is the missing part in the product life cycle, the product we created is not exactly what we wanted. We are confident that this is a temporary issue and will be resolved in the near future.
For the time being, you should throw the cup away with the residual waste or burn it in the fireplace after you have removed the metal wick holder.
Do I have to pay extra attention to the safety instructions?
Yes. When burning candles, it is very important to always observe all safety rules. Since the C-lights cup is made from plants and other natural ingredients, it is important to prevent the cup from igniting. The design of C-lights ensures that the wick holder cannot float to the wall of the cup by means of a patented system. The small metal plate and the eco-cotton wick also ensure a safe and high-quality flame.
See the safety icons on our packaging. Can you deduce what they all mean? Here are a few important examples: always use a (non-flammable) tea light holder, do not place the candles in a draft or continuous air flow, place them on a flat surface with sufficient distance between the candles and not near flammable materials. Never leave candles burning unattended and be careful with children or pets.
With normal use according to the safety regulations, you can use C-lights safely and carefree. This way you can now also enjoy natural candlelight in a sustainable way.
Are your tealights completely vegan?
Yes. We only use 100% vegetable wax without the use of animal fats.
Can your vegetable wax be harmful to my pet?
No. Your pet or bird may like our vegetable wax. This can't hurt. Of course, it is not the intention that our tea lights are used as animal feed. Advice is to keep them out of reach of your pets. However, in the winter you can safely put a cup outside to provide the wild birds with extra vegetable fats.
PLEASE NOTE: if your pet has already eaten a tea light with cup, please consult the vet immediately.
Candle tips:
Combine C-lights with a beautiful (transparent) tea light holder to make the most of the unique atmosphere. Always place our tea lights in a non-flammable tea light holder and not in a draft or near flammable materials. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation in the house, never leave candles burning unattended, do not place candles in direct sunlight and observe all recommended safety measures (see all safety icons on the packaging). This way you can enjoy C-lights and the warm atmosphere of natural candlelight without any worries.
After use
Since our cups are made from plant-based materials, they can be composted according to the protocol for PLA7. The Austrian TUV has tested and accredited compostability according to an industrial process called 7P2159. To make the cup compostable, the metal wick holder must be removed. This small metal plate is necessary for a safe flame. You can throw this plate away with the residual waste or with the plastic (depending on your municipality). Our product requires a composting time of 10 weeks at 100 degrees Celsius and 1 Newton pressure. After this process, the only residue will be pure water – with no toxic emissions.
There are only a few locations where waste is industrially composted. There is not yet a suitable system for collecting, sorting and composting bioplastic that takes into account the time required for complete composting. We are sure that this is a temporary challenge and will be resolved in the near future.
For the time being you have to throw the cups with the residual waste or burn them yourself in the fireplace after you have removed the metal wick holder. Do not throw the cups in the plastic or GFT (green) container.
