WE WANT TO KEEP WHAT IS PURE, PURE!
The skin, our largest organ, protects us and covers us. Waste products are excreted via the skin (including sweat) but substances are also absorbed. 60% of all substances that we use on our skin (cream, shower gel, shampoo, etc.) end up in our bloodstream.
WHAT DO ALL THESE SUBSTANCES DO?
Most care products contain artificial and harmful substances that disrupt the natural processes in the skin. It is therefore very important to learn more about what is in toothpaste, nappy cream, shampoo, shower gel, hand soap, body lotion and sunscreen. What does that do to the little bodies of our children? (and to our own bodies...) It is incredibly difficult to become wiser from the ingredient lists on the backs of products, but it is certainly worth it to delve into it.
The substances that the body cannot process are stored and accumulate in your body over the years. Most ingredients have not been tested sufficiently for safety.
Unfortunately, it is too often assumed that products are safe until proven otherwise. In addition, the effects of using all products together are not considered.
OUR EXPERIENCE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOR THE PRODUCERS!
When producing care products, it is not the effects on our health that are important, but the consumer experience that is decisive.
For example, if you look at a shampoo, there is often a substance added to it that ensures that the shampoo foams nicely. After all, foam is associated with clean. So, the more foam, the better.
That this substance removes the natural layer of fat from the skin and thus causes flaky, dry skin is of secondary importance. More and more children have skin complaints from an early age… By consciously choosing pure products to which no harmful substances have been added, many complaints can be prevented and remedied.
PLEASE NOTE….
Most care products contain harmful substances that are best avoided. These are:
- Mineral oils
This sounds quite innocent, but this is obtained by boiling petroleum at high temperatures. It is therefore a chemical composition that you would rather not bring onto your body.
- Parabens
These substances are used as preservatives. The shelf life of the products they are in is extended by preventing spoilage due to bacteria, fungi and/or yeasts. But unfortunately, the preservative effect is so strong that it continues to work in our bodies. You can imagine that this can cause problems in your cells. There is a lot of uncertainty about the extent to which these synthetic substances are harmful to our bodies. It is certain that a spoiled care product is also very harmful to our bodies. Preservatives are therefore necessary, but preferably the least harmful variant. Even a natural preservative does not necessarily mean that it is not harmful.
- SLS and SLES (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate and Sodium Laureth Sulphate)
Both ensure that shampoo and shower gel foam so nicely. These ingredients have the major disadvantage that, in addition to dirt and sebum, they also easily dissolve the natural skin fat. This disrupts the natural barrier function of the skin and you suffer from dry, flaky and dehydrated skin.
- Artificial colors
These substances are irritating and can cause asthma, fatigue, headaches, nausea and lack of concentration, among other things.
- Perfume
Here you have to pay close attention to what kind of product you have in your hands. With natural products with a quality mark, the perfume is made up of essential oils. These are harmless to the body. With regular products, the same word perfume means that it is made up of harmful chemicals. In the latter case, it can cause quite a few complaints.
We hope these tips help you evaluate ingredient lists.
Go consciously for pure kids!
