After Sun vs Body Lotion
You can perfectly use an aftersun as a body lotion. But a body lotion rather not as an aftersun. Because what your skin especially needs after an overdose of sun is cooling. And an oily body lotion, body cream or body oil contains butters and oils that actually retain the heat in your skin. And that is the last thing your skin needs.
What your skin does need is hydration! That is why our Aftersun contains cucumber extract. But also aloe vera to help your skin recover from the sun overdose. And green tea known for its high amount of antioxidants that help repair sun damage. To help cool your skin down as well as keep your tan nice and long, there is also coconut oil in our Aftersun. Because it is an oil that absorbs super quickly and can therefore cool your skin.
Coconut oil is quickly absorbed into your skin and helps cool it down. Mango butter is a very light butter that soaks deep into your skin, where it gives your skin extra hydration and helps keep it supple. Together, they help retain your sunny tan even longer and add extra radiance.
Use your oily body cream or body oil especially if your skin already has a nice tan and you want to give your skin an extra glow. But if your skin is not ready yet, use the Aftersun to give your skin a good hydration boost.
Use
- The Aftersun is suitable for all ages.
- If you store the Aftersun in the fridge, it can cool your skin even better. But storing it in the bathroom is no problem either.
- If the Aftersun gets warm, it can become extra runny. Be careful when using the tube then, as the cream can run out a bit easier.
- The tubes are not sealed! Since the cap completely seals the tube, Loveli has chosen to omit the seal for environmental reasons.
- The Aftersun is completely vegan.

- Aloe vera: The aloe vera juice in our Aftersun is made from aloe vera leaves. Aloe vera has been known to soothe and restore the skin for centuries.
- Coconut oil: coconut oil soaks into your skin quickly, helping to cool sunburned skin. And it helps keep your sunny glow longer by moisturising your skin and making it supple without clogging your skin.
- Coco Caprylate/Caprate: liquid coconut oil with the same nice effect as regular coconut oil, but with the advantage of not hardening when the temperature goes down again.
- Mango butter: Mango butter absorbs quickly and conditions your skin.
- Cucumber extract: made from fresh, organic cucumbers in vegetable glycerine. Glycerin is hydrating for your skin. Cucumber contains the minerals magnesium and potassium that provide moisture retention. The natural vitamin C in cucumber acts as an antioxidant.
- Cetearyl Olivate and Sorbitan Olivate: together are the natural emulsifier in this Aftersun
- Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant
- Glycerin: This glycerin is vegetable and is the base of the cucumber extract. Glycerin is hydrating.
- Green tea extract: for the extra dose of antioxidants that help repair sun damage.
- Xanthan gum: the thickener in this Aftersun
- Citric acid: to lower the pH of the Aftersun. A low pH of around 5 helps restore the balance of your skin.
