Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum 30 ML
A powerful Vitamin A serum that exfoliates, softens and reduces wrinkles!
New more powerful formula! The formula has changed, check the ingredients below to see if this is still a match for you.
The Super A Serum is formulated to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, diminish age spots and skin discolouration, and improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin.
This powerful new Vitamin A serum exfoliates the skin, increases cell renewal and reduces fine lines and wrinkles by using a gentle but effective form of vitamin A called HPR. This revolutionary new form of vitamin A is bioavailable in its current state without the need for inefficient metabolic steps (retinol requires 2 metabolic steps).
From hyperpigmentation to wrinkles to skin roughness, this serum packed with active ingredients is a game changer. Combining three bioactive retinoids and bakuchiol, this serum delivers clear results in revealing sun-damaged, ageing skin. Hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid and other hydrating ingredients soften and plump the skin, while retinoids work their magic.
Frequently asked questions
Can I wear this during the day? Every time you exfoliate (be it with an exfoliator, alpha hydroxy acids, a cleansing brush, etc.), you need to be extra diligent about protecting your skin from the sun, as you reveal new skin cells that are more susceptible to damage. We recommend using our Vitamin A serum at night and sunscreen and a hat during the day to protect the skin.
Can I use this during pregnancy or breastfeeding? We always recommend contacting your healthcare provider directly if you have any questions about ingredients that can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. That said, this product contains vitamin A, the ingredient in our line that is usually not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
What is the difference between the super A serum and the AHA exfoliating peel?
The new Super A Serum contains 3 bioactive retinoids, including HPR. We have also added retinol and retinyl linoleate along with bakuchiol, a plant-based active that acts as a retinoid and works beautifully with the retinoids to deliver clear results to sun-damaged and ageing skin.
The AHA Exfoliating Peel is a blend of 10% alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic and lactic) and is a must-have for anyone looking to brighten their complexion and keep pores clear. Alpha hydroxy acids dissolve dead skin cells and keratin accumulated on the skin surface, while Gigawhite brightens the skin and reduces the appearance of discolouration.
Can I layer with the exfoliating serum? We normally recommend alternating vitamin A (such as retinoids) and alpha hydroxy acids at night rather than layering them, as they can over-exfoliate and irritate the skin if used together. Our exfoliating serum contains a gentle but effective blend of glycolic acid and lactic acid, making it a great option for exfoliation. You can use a moisturiser a few minutes later to give the serum time to fully absorb into the skin.
What is
What is the percentage of vitamin A in this serum?
We use about 1% -2% HPR in our vitamin A serum to deliver an effective product that does not cause irritation for most.
Is this suitable for sensitive skin?
Because these vitamin A derivatives are potent, we recommend nightly application every other night until the skin has adjusted to prevent dryness and irritation. If you have very sensitive or reactive skin, it is best to do a patch test first to make sure it works for your skin before applying.
What is the difference between the original Vitamin A Serum and the new Super A Serum?
The original Vitamin A Serum formula contained a single retinoid called HPR, while the new Super A Serum contains three bioactive retinoids: HPR, retinol and retinyl linoleate. We have also added bakuchiol, a plant-based active that acts as a retinoid and works beautifully with the retinoids to deliver clear results to sun-damaged and ageing skin.
