ingredients
- Aqua (Water): Distilled or deionised water is used to dissolve other ingredients and gives products a fine texture.
- Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil: Coconut oil is extracted from the grated pulp of the coconut. The oil puts a protective film on the skin, keeping it well hydrated. It is a light oil that does not penetrate deeply into the skin.
- Coco Caprylate/Caprate (Liquid Coconut Oil): This oil is made from coconut fat alcohol and remains liquid at low temperatures. It is a light, non-greasy ingredient that lubricates easily and leaves skin feeling velvety soft.
- Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil: Sunflower oil is a good antioxidant. It is lightweight and mild and does not stick to the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties and absorbs quickly. Moreover, it is ideal for hair care and for light moisturisers for oily skin.
- Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil: Sweet almond oil is cold-pressed from the kernels of the almond tree. It is a very rich oil and is especially meant for dry skin. This oil absorbs less quickly, but very deeply. It is also very suitable for sensitive skin.
- Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter: Shea butter is made from the nuts of the shea nut tree and is also known as 'the tree of life'. The shea tree grows in central Africa. Shea butter is moisturising and makes the skin supple and elastic. This butter is very suitable for dry, irritated and/or (eczema) sensitive skin.
- Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate: Natural emulsifier derived from corn sugar. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is sometimes used in obtaining this ingredient. Our methyl glucose sesquistearate is PEG-free and thus completely junk-free ;-).
- Cetyl Alcohol: Extracted from coconuts, it acts as an emulsifier and thickener. It works super moisturising and does not irritate the skin. Basically everything you don't expect from an alcohol ;-).
- Glycerin: Produced from coconut oil. Is moisture-retaining.
- Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract: Calendula extract is extracted from the flowering parts of calendula, also known as marigold. This active ingredient is good at repairing irritated and sensitive skin. It soothes the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties.
- Vaccinium Vitis-Idea (Red Blueberry) Extract: A superfood from Scandinavia, packed with antioxidants and flavonoids that repair your skin from free radical damage in your skin. In other words, it helps your skin recover from sun damage and even reduce sun-induced pigmentation.
- Tocopherol (Vitamin E): A powerful antioxidant that helps against skin ageing. It is moisturising and helps your skin recover from sun damage.
Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Powder: Cranberry extract is packed with antioxidants that help protect your skin from free radical damage and slow down the skin ageing process.
- Benzyl Alcohol: Natural preservative and solvent. This should be reported separately on the label as some people can be allergic to it.
- Benzoic Acid: Natural preservative derived from cassia (Chinese cinnamon) oil.
- Sorbic Acid: Natural preservative derived from rowan berry.
- Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Peel Oil: Orange essential oil has a fresh sparkling scent with uplifting properties.
- Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil: The essential oil pressed from the peel of lemons. Also commonly used to fade scars and even out skin tone. In aromatherapy, it has an activating and uplifting effect.
- Perfume (Natural): The perfumes we use are all made from essential oils and 100% natural.
- Xanthan Gum: Xanthan gum is a sticky substance created by bacterial fermentation from sugar and molasses. It acts as a thickener in the cream.
- Citric Acid: Citric acid is used to lower the pH level to an ideal level for your skin. It also acts as a natural preservative.
- Potassium Sorbate: Natural preservative made from the rowan berry.
- Sodium Benzoate: Natural preservative. Present in cinnamon, cloves, tomatoes, berries, plums, apples and cranberries.
- Citral, Limonene, Linalool: These are not ingredients, but natural constituents of the essential oils of orange and lemon. They should be reported separately on the label, as some people may be allergic to them.
